Museum volunteer guide Captain (Retired) Cec Baker with tour guide trainees.Museum volunteer Janet Curley readies an artifact for display. The museum has only a small core staff of three people to operate the museum and archives, and care for the museum's artifacts. Museum staff look after five heritage buildings in different locations, and oversee the range of services the museum provides to the general public and members of the Base and Formation communities.

We rely on volunteers to enhance the museum's services. Volunteers contribute their skills, talents and abilities to all our projects. It's a team effort.

It would be impossible for the museum to offer guided tours, for example, without the goodwill and experience of our volunteer tour guides. Similarly, it would not be possible to properly catalogue and account for the museum's collection of artifacts without the cooperation and support of many talented volunteers.

In addition, we have a well-equipped woodwork shop in Naden Building 29 where volunteers with carpentry and other skills help to make new display cases and improve existing displays as well. Our visitor reception centre in Naden Building 37 is another opportunity for people who enjoy the chance to meet the public, answer questions and create a warm welcome for visitors.

Warehouse volunteer Kay Stidston works on the museum collection. We truly appreciate the involvement of experienced individuals. We can provide training for people who are interested to learn more about how they can be involved in the museum's work and at the same time build their own skills and experience.

We are also always on the lookout for people who can share photos and interesting objects with us with a view to donating them. And of course we very much appreciate financial support for the museum's activities.

Please contact us if you want to know more about how you can contribute and get involved.
